Evan directed this animated video for Empowered By You (EBY), Sofia Vergara’s lingerie company, which donates 10% of its new sales to raise awareness and funds for microfinance programs specifically focused on empowering women all over the globe.

The topic of microfinance loans can be rather complicated, so EBY turned to Evan to create a video for their website that would explain the subject matter in an entertaining, easy to understand way. Evan responded with an engaging, story-driven approach that presented microfinance loans through the lens of Sandra, a single mother in need of a hand-up, but not a hand-out.

The style was very important to conveying the right tone and showing off the personality of the EBY brand, so Evan worked with a team of illustrators and animators to bring Sandra and her friends to life in a cell-shaded, "chibi" style, and then created the environment with fabric textures as a tie-in to the lingerie aspect of the organization. This resulted in a visually unique and exciting mixed-media world.
